BioThis journal is currently a wasteland... slowly figuring out how to use LJ and not all that certain about how I want to use it... I'll let you know when I decide.
Bio: I'm a certified nut-job who lives/eats/sleeps/breathes theatre. I've just finished a double Masters of Fine Arts (finally) and am in the process of moving to Juneau, Alaska. I'm a teacher, lighting designer, master electrician, grid monkey, costume designer, draper, stitcher, textile artist, welder... and a few things I haven't figured out yet. I don't do sets or sound and I don't act, sing or dance. I love my work although I sometimes lack the confidence in my abilities that everyone around me seems to think I have in spades. I love my life pretty much as is, but I want a dog.
Standard truths: A friend made fast is a friend for life, you fuck with me and I'll fuck with you back. I'm an honest person who doesn't like beating around bushes, trees, arbors, flower beds, rock gardens, any sort of landscaping, really. I'm silly and serious.
Likes: Laughing, crying, amusing company and necessary solitude. Good beer, good food, great books and movies of all sorts. Animals of most sorts. Rain and snow in moderation.
Dislikes: Trite dishonesty, holier-than-thou attitudes, petty meanness, people who kick dogs (well, all animals). Green peppers and blue cheese. The smell of feet.
Favorite authors: Gaiman, De Lint, Tepper, Pullman, Rowlings, Le Guin, Rawn, Bantock, Bryson, Austin, Poe, Rand, LM Montgomery, MD Russell, Quinn and a couple dozen others. I read. A lot.
Favorite music: Eclectic and ever-changing. Right now - Eddie From Ohio, Yo Yo Ma, Jack Johnson, Black Eyed Peas, David Grey, Del McCoury, Alison Krauss, The Shins, The Beatles, Bowie, Johnny Cash, Van Morrison, The White Stripes, Beck, Cake, Soul Coughing, and a variety of latin stuff (NO Shakira or Enrique Iglesias, thanks).
